We walked over to the Sunday farmer’s market that is very close to our apartment (last one of the year) and there was a rather poor showing. Which is surprising, because it was another beautiful fall day – upper 50s and sunny, no chance of rain. Got some broccoli and a tomato, and that was about it. We were ready to pick up some pies or other baked goods from a nearby orchard if they had showed... oh well.
As per the training plan that will be guiding my running for the next month, I went for a 6 mile long/easy run today. Supposed to be at a 12:47 pace. sooo sloooow.
My handy dandy Garmin gives me my average pace per mile. I ran faster for the first and last miles (road/neighborhood) and slower in the middle (through the park) because I stopped often to take pictures!
- Mile 1: 10:34
- Mile 2: 11:31
- Mile 3: 11:04
- Mile 4: 11:46
- Mile 5: 12:02
- Mile 6: 10:31
- .08 nubbin (cool down) : 16:20
Mile 1.5
Ok, back to pictures I took today...
Mile 2
Mile 4
Mile 4.35
Then I put my camera away as I left the park and finished my run.
Sunny and mid to upper 50s was the perfect weather for running, and I think definitely contributed to me running faster (for me) in the first and last miles. I have to remind myself what is appropriate running clothing for cooler weather. The wind made it feel cooler than it was, and I was ready to put on crops and/or a long sleeve shirt... but I went with my pink short sleeve Nike dri-fit shirt from last year's Turkey Trot and shorts, which was a good choice.
it's always a sad time when the farmer's market ends for the year =/
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I hope to get out today and enjoy the slightly warmer weather (low 50s) before the winter hits. Thanks for the extra push!
ReplyDeleteI went for a similar run yesterday it was so nice out! I live in Central NJ (Colts Neck), so it was equally beautiful. Though I drove though Princeton during the day.
ReplyDeleteForgot to mention, I totally agree with the food prices at Triumph, I think that the food is gross, and overpriced, but I love the beer sampler.
ReplyDelete@kathleen- it is sad! We have another bigger one nearby (not walking distance) that stays open longer (it's enclosed) but I'm not sure what the selections are like in the winter.
ReplyDelete@Becky- hope you got out and enjoyed a run! The last two nights dropped into the freezing range over night. I'm not ready for winter!
@ojodeazul- Oh, ok - you're not that far from me! Not very familiar with that part of the state, though I did do a little 3k over in that direction in Monmouth Battlefield Park. It can be a little crazy driving through Princeton on a weekend! There are people everywhere. And I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one that feels that way about Triumph's food!
