I must say, I'm pretty excited. I have already worn it around the apartment and taunted my dog with blowing into the whistle. I'd like to think it was kind of like the Pied Piper but with dogs instead of rats.
This is probably my number 1 coolest medal. Number 2 would be my medal that doubles as a bottle opener from this May.
In other news, after a rousing afternoon of speed work...
Goal pace for 2000m aka 1.25 mi intervals was 8:52 |
...I made Moroccan Lentil with Chickpea Soup. Recipe is from Wegmans. Not to be confused with a previously made Moroccan Lentil soup. After Dan and I each had a large bowl for dinner, we have leftovers to last a family of 7 for the rest of the week.
Perhaps I should have halved the recipe? |
What's your favorite race medal and why?
Make anything good for dinner lately? I need some new ideas.
I love leftover soup! Sometimes i throw it in the slow cooker and add brown rice for a stew - yummmm
ReplyDeleteThat is the coolest medal ever!!!
I've never heard of receiving a whistle as a medal. That's awesome! I'm a fan of the idea of a medal that can be used for other purposes as well.
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for a great recipe for lentil soup. I'm going to have to check that one out.
Wow, that's the coolest medal ever. All my medals are just....medals. One is a bottle opener, but the whistle is much better.
ReplyDeleteI love recipes like that, I always freeze some portions and then I have a quick dinner when a busy week hits. Wegmans recipes are the best. Try this one: http://www.wegmans.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10052&catalogId=10002&productId=726334
I read 'whistle' and saw the first picture and I was so confused! Heh. That is an awesome, awesome medal.
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome medals! I made Fried Thai Quinoa the other day and it was delicious. I got the recipe from Peas and Thank You.
ReplyDeletethat's an awesome medal! the nicest medal i received so far was probably from the NJ marathon. it was pretty high quality, i thought. our philly RnR medals weren't too shabby either!
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome medal!!! I'm so jealous.:)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite medal was from the Oak Barrel Half Marathon sponsored by Jack Daniels in Lynchburg Tn.
That soup looks delish!
PULLED PORK!
ReplyDelete2 lbs pork tenderloin, 500 mL of rootbeer, an onion, 8 hrs on low in the slowcooker.
Pull it apart and add 1 cup of your favourite bbq sauce!
So easy and oh so good.
When I read whistle, my first thought was "Oh, a rape whistle?" I don't know what is wrong with me. :)
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was rape whistle too. I think Kara and I must have the same mental disease. Your medals are way awesome! My favorite is just my half marathon medal because it's the biggest and has the fanciest ribbon. None of my medals are that functional/cool.
